Innovating Player Interaction

Identifying a gap in the online gaming market, particularly in enhancing user engagement, PokerStars embarked on developing a unique feature. The aim was to introduce a novel way for players to interact in the virtual poker environment, diverging from traditional methods.

Team Dynamics

Working in sync with the innovation team, and in consultation with UI/UX designers and stakeholders, we focused on creating a feature that could bring a new level of excitement to online poker. This led to the conception of 'Throwables' - a playful and interactive way for players to communicate during games.

Creative Process

The task was to design a range of interactive and entertaining 'Throwables' that players could use to react and interact during gameplay. The design process involved conceptualising a variety of items, from humorous to celebratory, ensuring they were visually appealing and fit seamlessly into the gaming interface.

Outcome

The launch of Throwables gave players a mix of playful and tactical animated items, adding a new layer of interaction at the tables. It made games more fun, more social, and introduced extra strategy to the overall experience.
